Surgery Assistant 

Full Time

Decontaminates and prepares for sterilization all trays, instrumentation and equipment used at the center. Reprocess instrumentation between cases in a timely manner. Maintains pack cart. Performs regular equipment checks such as autoclave QI program, and maintains records/logs. Assists in moving and positioning of patients, as time allows. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, particulary in turn-over of the surgery suites between caes, assisting with terminal cleaning at the end of the schedule. Runs video equipment for various procedures. Must be computer svay.

Registration Receptionist 

FT - temporary
Reports to: Business Office Manager

Performs pre-registration duties by verifying demographic information received from scheduling. Performs on-line verification when appropriate. Obtains deductible, co-insurance, co-pay and out-of-pocket amounts. Explains financial responsibility to patients. Accepts payments. Answers Center’s main phone line and transfers calls. Minimum two years related registration/receptionist experience, preferably in health care setting.

Reports to: Business Office Manager

Primarily responsible for the filing, scanning and maintaining of financial charts for the patient account department.  Performs a variety of supportive clinical tasks for patient accounts and administration. Responsible for filing, scanning and maintaining financial charts for Patient Accounts area. Performs a variety of supportive clerical tasks for Patient Accounts and Administration. Knowledge of insurance benefits and contracts helpful. Ability to operate computer, various software packages, copy machine, fax machine and other office machines.

Registered Nurse – Surgery

Full Time - Part Time - PRN
Reports to: Clinical Director

Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care during the surgical phase of care. Coordinates total patient care in coordination with other health team members, particularly the Center’s team. Functions as a patient advocate utilizing the Patient’s Bill of Rights. Demonstrates professional growth and development by accepting responsibility and accountability for one’s nursing practice. This position will work inside the operating room as a patient advocate, ensuring the operative procedures have the patient's best interest in mind. Work in collaboration with the anesthetist, surgeon, and surgical assistants to create a comfortable and safe environment for the patient. Responsibility for charting the surgical events and keeping an inventory of supplies and equipment used for the procedure. Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast paced environment that requires quick thinking, and remaining calm in a crisis. Excellent clinical skills in an ambulatory environment preferred. Indiana RN license required. CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred. Ability to function independently and strong decision-making skills.

Registered Nurse – Pre-Op/Phase II/PACU

Full Time - Part Time - PRN
Reports to: Charge Nurse

Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care during the peri-operative phases. Coordinates total patient care in coordination with other health team members, particularly the Center’s team. Functions as a patient advocate utilizing the Patient’s Bill of Rights. Demonstrates professional growth and development by accepting responsibility and accountability for one’s nursing practice. Admission, recovery, and discharge of surgical patients. Excellent clinical skills in an ambulatory environment preferred. Indiana RN license required. CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred. Ability to function independently and strong decision-making skills.

Certified Surgical Technologist

Full Time
Reports to: Clinical Director

Performs a variety of duties in the Center, as a member of the surgical team. Scrubs on all types of cases performed at the Center, including general, GYN, orthopedic, ENT, plastic surgery, urology, laser and local cases. Assists in preparation for cases by “picking cases” and set-up and maintenance of sterile field. May also function as surgeon’s second assistant.
